da Blechhauf'n or The Brass Heap in English, is an Austrian brass ensemble consisting of seven members that started as a non-profit ensemble, which turned into a profession for each of the members. The crew plays a mix of traditional music along with more modern renditions, mixing vocals and brass together.

Broken Brass Ensemble



The Broken Brass Ensemble is a new-orleans style brass band that is based out of the Netherlands and does extensive touring throughout Europe. As there is a similar theme today, they mix vocals with brass playing.

The Haggis Horns


"The Haggis Horns are a 9-piece live funk band combining heavy breakbeat funk, soul, hip-hop and afrobeat with the virtuosity of trained jazz musicians." 

Permanent Members of the Haggis Horns include
Malcolm Strachan (trumpet, valve trombone)
 Atholl Ransome (tenor saxophone, flute)
 Rob Mitchell (alto saxophone, baritone saxophone)

However, they often fill out the ensemble with more brass musicians while touring.

Trombone Unit Hanover



Trombone Unit Hannover is a renowned trombone ensemble formed in 2008, consisting of nine elite trombonists who studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media. They have since become one of the premier trombone ensembles, performing some of the most difficult music for the trombone choir.

Scherzo Funebre was commissioned by Peter Gane and the Guildhall Trombone Choir in 1983 and first performed in the Barbican Centre on Friday, 16th September 1983.  It was composed by Derek Bourgeois (1941-2017)

Ricardo Molla (May 13, 1992)

Ricardo Molla is a Spanish-born trombone soloist and composer currently based in New York City. He has added an extensive catalogue to the trombone solo repertoire, as well as adding to a large array of various brass ensembles. Song for Nurya was one of Molla's first compositions, but in 2024, he rearranged the work for brass trio. The performance we are listening to today is performed by TRISKEL BRASS Trumpet: Vicente Vallet Horn: Javier Molina Trombone: Christian Brandhoferç.
